This scoping review examines the effects of various surface treatments on the bond strength of resin-repaired resin matrix CAD-CAM ceramics. Researchers analyzed 47 in vitro studies, exploring mechanical treatments (alumina blasting, silica coating, laser irradiation), chemical treatments (hydrofluoric acid, silane), and combinations thereof. The review finds that combined chemical and mechanical treatments yield the strongest bonds, with alumina blasting and silica coating being the most prevalent mechanical methods. Laser irradiation emerges as a potential alternative. The findings aim to guide dental professionals in choosing optimal repair protocols.
