This research article investigates the prevalence and predictors of workplace sexual harassment experienced by dental hygienists from employers, supervisors, and coworkers in the United States and Canada. The study utilized a survey of 288 dental hygienists and found that approximately 40% reported experiencing sexual harassment, with male employers being the most frequent perpetrators. The most common forms of harassment reported were sexist and crude or offensive behaviors, and the study identified age and educational level as predictors for certain types of harassment. Ultimately, the findings underscore a significant issue within the dental hygiene profession and highlight the need for education and policies to address workplace sexual harassment.
